The projects before glazing
These are actually the first projects I did without any help in this shop since I started working there. The boss just gave me the plans and I built them. Took me like 2 and a half weeks to build and a week to paint and glaze. They look pretty and I should feel proud of myself. The lady should come down to her house on Wednesday and see how she likes them. I'm crossing my fingers, well the husband saw them and said he liked them so that's a good sign. The reason why it took me a week to paint because I carefully painted the moldings with different colors with different colors stroking inside the lines, green and brown. This is called sheer art. Everything is pretty strong too because the doors and face frames were put together by tenon and mortise joints which took me a while to make but it's worth it! Everything is all spoke shaved and distressed to make them look old. Today I started on more projects for a lady in Spring City also, a built-in desk in a corner and two night stands. They are going to be in a restored cabin out in a farm where she lives. It's exciting! I did do two shelf cabinet things for her laundry room a few months back, also my boss did her kitchen and china hutch before I started working there. I like recent customers! The Campbell's are recent customers too, we did their kitchen and laundry room. The kitchen is in the 1st picture in the last post in this blog.
way to go dan
